Probing Tool Length (CNC Router)

Probing an individual tool length automatically

  • Turn on the machine. Warm up the spindle.
  • If the machine was idle for more than 1 or 2 hours, warm up the spindle again.
  • Remove the cover from the tool probe.
Warning: Damage to the machine or tool can occur if the tool probe cover is not removed before probing.
  • Clear the safety mat. Turn the SAFETY RESET key.
  • Type F 25.n and press ENTER. In this command, n is the number of the tool pocket that you want to probe. For example, type F 25.1 to probe tool 1. Type F 25.2 to probe tool 2.
  • The machine picks up the tool as necessary and moves to the tool probe location. Press ENTER to start the probing cycle.
  • If the correct tool is now in the spindle, the machine moves directly to the probe location.
Note: If the tool is not correct, the machine will change the tool, or the machine will ask you to remove the current tool before it continues.
  • When the probing cycle is complete, the machine returns to the position that it was in before the process started.
