Usage Information
- Turn on the ventilation extraction and ensure the vents are open. Ask a member of technical staff if you are unsure what you need to do.
- Clean the mould very well before using this product. The cleaning method will vary between mould materials, but consider using soap and water (let it dry first!) or isopropyl alcohol to clean the mould.
- Place the mould in the spray area, and ensure there are no other parts in the area which could be affected by overspray.
- Wear the appropriate PPE as indicated above.
- Spray the mould 6-8 inches (150-200mm) away from the surface, applying even light coats like you would use spray paint. Don't forget to rotate the mould so you can get at all angles. If there are undercuts make sure the mould fully coated. Many light coats are better than one heavy coat. Do not use so much spray that it runs.
- Moulds which have been sand blasted may need a heavier coat of mould release to "season" the mould before use.
- Wipe off excess with paper towels and dispose of them in general waste once you have finished working.
- Apply a light coat inbetween mould pulls.
- Leave the mould in the ventilated extraction area with the extraction turned on until the mould release has flashed off. Dispose of single-use PPE in general waste, and return any reusable PPE to the appropriate location.
