Usage Information

  • Make sure the extractor is turned on. This is the "Laser Cutter Extraction" switch near the Technician's Office as you enter the Maker Space.
  • Open the ventilator at the back of the spray area in the section you are working in. Slide it up until it catches.
  • Leave the extraction on after you have finished work.
  • Remove the shipping ring before use - pull the cap off and the disc which prevents the nozzle from being pressed can now fall out. Carefully replace the nozzle once the ring has been removed.
  • Shake the can for at least two minutes after the ball bearing inside breaks free. Keep shaking it every so often when you are spraying to keep the paint mixed and free.
  • Additional coats of paint can be applied after 3 to 5 minutes and before 30 minutes has passed. This will form a chemical bond with the previous layer, which will result in optimal strength.
  • For more information on spray painting see the spray painting guidance page.
