Do not touch or interact with any part of the chip conveyor while it is motion.<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"hpb-item\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/makeinsalford.com\/wiki\/wp-content\/plugins\/hazard-ppe-pictogram-block-v1.7.4\/assets\/pictograms\/general.png\" class=\"hpb-icon\" alt=\"General hazard pictogram\" \/><div class=\"hpb-text\"><div class=\"hpb-title\">Hazardous<\/div><div class=\"hpb-desc\">Swarf from a lathe is hazardous &#8211; often it is incredibly sharp. It will cut you easily, especially if being dragged by the chip conveyor. Do not move swarf around bare handed, and use an appropriate tool when you need to.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Operating the Chip Conveyor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Control panel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The chip conveyor only runs with the door shut. It is controlled with the <strong>CHIP FWD<\/strong>, <strong>CHIP STOP<\/strong>, and <strong>CHIP REV<\/strong> buttons on the left hand side of the control panel. The chip conveyor will only operate in reverse with the button held in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">G-code<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>M31<\/strong> will turn the chip conveyor on in the forward direction, and <strong>M33<\/strong> will stop it. You can use these M codes from within the program or in MDI mode on the control panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cleaning the Chip Conveyor<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You must not try to clean any part of the chip conveyor by hand while it is in motion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When changing between materials you can place a rag into the conveyor &#8211; this will drag through any material that is stuck in the conveyor and give a good visual indication of when the chip bin can be changed.
