<\/figure>\nYou can move the design around by clicking and dragging it and, if you don’t need particular accuracy or scaling, you can resize it by dragging one of the black boxes located around the edge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Make sure your design is fully on the material you have put onto the laser cutter bed. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We can get some good starting values from the preset library built into Epilog Dashboard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scroll down until you find a preset suitable for cutting 3mm thick MDF, which is a type of wood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Click to select the preset, then click Import<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/figure>\nThe Process Type has automatically changed to Vector, which will follow a path drawn in Illustrator. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Speed setting controls how fast the laser will move. If you increase this value the cut will be shallower, so you can lightly mark instead of cutting all the way through. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Power setting controls how much energy is put into the cut. Decreasing this value will make a shallower cut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The frequency also affects how much energy is put into the cut, but in a different way. It varies per material and you can usually leave this alone unless you know what you’re doing.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
