There is a risk of crushing injury from moving parts in this machine. Keep doors and windows to the enclosure closed when the machine is running. Do not defeat safety interlocks.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n

Instructions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It’s important to follow the power-on and warm up process to avoid easily preventable damage to the spindle bearings. As the machine sits unused any oil lubricant in the bearings settles to the bottom – the spindle warmup program will gently warm up the bearings and distribute this oil back around as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You need to run the warmup program if the machine has been sitting unused for more than 24 hours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the machine has been sat for longer than 1-2 weeks (such as after the Christmas holidays) a longer warmup cycle is required – ask a member of technical staff for assistance with this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Press the green Power On<\/strong> button and wait for the control to start up.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Once the machine has booted up you will be presented with the “Haas Start Up” screen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Follow the instructions on the right hand side – open and close the door, reset the E-Stop button, and press Power Up<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wait for the machine to home itself. Keep in mind all the axes of the machine will move themselves, so if you think there is risk of a collision ask a member of technical staff for help before starting. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Once you have green ticks next to the top three items, press the Cancel <\/strong>button to leave this screen.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Press the List Program<\/strong> button and navigate to the Memory <\/strong>tab using the Cursor <\/strong>buttons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlight the program “UMC-500 15k Spindle Warmup” as shown, and press Select Program<\/strong> to load it into the active memory.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Press the Memory <\/strong>button to switch into memory mode, and then press Cycle Start <\/strong>to start running the warmup program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may wish to run the coolant during the warmup process, to do so press the Coolant <\/strong>button.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
