Usage Information
Setting the spindle speed
It is important to set the spindle speed correctly - the size of the bit you are using and the type of material you are drilling all affect the ideal speed. Cutting too slowly or too quickly can lead to poor cutting performance, and can even be dangerous.
The spindle speed is set using the pulleys in the top of the pillar drill head.
Workholding
It is crucially important to clamp your work effectively and safely before starting work. There are a few options you can use, and you can always ask for advice from a member of technical staff. Clamping your work not only prevents an injury, it will give you better accuracy and a nicer finish to your holes.
Removing and inserting chucks
The keyless chuck in the drill can be removed from the spindle and replaced with a different type.
