ISO Material Codes

Materials used in CNC machining are split into general groups known as ISO material codes. When you are selecting a turning insert, drill, or other cutting tool you should look at the ISO material group the tool is suited for. This is especially important in turning tool inserts which have geometry which is very specialised and specific to the material group it is designed for.
