This sintering oven converts the raw printed and washed parts from the Metal X printer into solid metal parts.

The sinter run varies per material, but typically it takes around 27 hours to complete, reaching temperatures of up to 1600 degrees centigrade.

This equipment isn't currently running as we are waiting for the installation of the argon dewar.

Argon supply

The sintering oven will be supplied with bulk argon from a dewar in the Goods In yard, as well as gas bottles from the bottle cupboards in the Morson Engine room.
