Training (AXYZ Innovator)

It's expected you'll be comfortable using basic Fusion 360 commands - you can open and save files, move parts around and are familiar with the concept of "components" and using the browser tree. For people familiar with Solidworks it is possible to change the mouse commands in the preferences so the orbit and view commands work in a similar manner.

What do I need to do?

Read through the wiki page for the phone stand part below. Follow the instructions in the video tutorial for the part and program the part completely in Fusion 360. Once you've completed that get in touch with the Maker Space staff to book a lot on the machine - we'll check the program with you to catch any catastrophic errors and teach you how to load the program onto the machine and run it.

  • Phone Stand

Once you've made this first part you should be reasonably comfortable setting up parts for the CNC router, but don't hesitate to ask for help.

Is there a cost?

THere are no material costs, and you get to take away the parts you cut on the router.

How much time will it take?

Expect to spend no more than an hour on programming the phone stand part, and then a little longer running the parts on the machine.

As you get more experienced the time it takes to program and run each job will decrease.
