Laser-safe Plywood
There are a few different types of plywood available. The main thing which makes it "laser safe" is the type of glue used in the lamination process. Normal plywood often uses glue which contains formaldehyde and other similar chemicals which are hazardous to burn. The glue used also tends to burn more cleanly, leaving a neater, tidier cut with less chance of fire.
You must only use laser-safe plywood on our laser cutters to avoid damage and dangerous fumes.
Lightweight Plywood
This material has a thicker core with two thinner outer laminations. It's noticeably lighter than normal 3-layer plywood and it cuts very easily.
LaserPlyLite is supplied by Hobarts.
