Startup Problems
Turning on the air supply causes the bulk abrasive hopper to rattle and make a loud noise.
The tank has depressurised overnight when the air compressors are turned off and the person before you didn't close the AIR IN valve on the bulk abrasive hopper.
- Close the AIR IN valve on the bulk abrasive hopper.
- Remove the lid.
- Clean the mating surfaces of the seal.
- Pull up on the seal T-handle and hold it in place.
- Turn ON the compressed air supply (AIR IN) at the hopper.
- Once the seal holds itself in place, replace the lid.
The low pressure charge pump won't turn on.
Check you have turned on the PUMP WATER tap all the way. There is a flow sensor in the pump water supply that prevents the low pressure charge pump from running dry if the water supply is not turned on.
If turning the water on doesn't solve the problem ask a member of technical staff for help.
Garnet Hopper Problems
The bulk abrasive supply hose is spraying garnet from the tool head garnet hopper!
The bulk abrasive hopper has probably run out of garnet and needs to be refilled. This is a straightforward process but be careful you do not run out of abrasive in the tool head hopper - this will stop cutting and spray water everywhere.
- Pause the machine using the blue pause button on the machine pendant.
- Ensure the lid is on the bulk abrasive hopper.
- Close the AIR IN valve on the bulk abrasive hopper.
- Open the DUMP VALVE. Wait for the hopper to de-pressurise.
- Close the DUMP VALVE.
This will release the pressure and stop the spray of garnet from the tool head hopper. Ask a technician to help you restock the bulk abrasive hopper.
Pump Problems
Resetting the high pressure pump VFD doesn't clear the fault and the VFD pressure indicator always reads 30.
This may be due to clogged water filters. There are two pairs of water filters on the waterjet - a pair located in the pump frame and a pair mounted to the end of the tank itself. Each pair of gauges should read approximately the same. Any pressure differential between the two gauges indicates it is time to change at least one of the filters.
Ask a technician to help resolve this problem.
The high pressure pump only runs for a few seconds before the VFD faults.
This is probably a filter issue as well. See above.
