You must probe each of the tools every time you come to use the machine - do not assume that the tools in the rack have been set correctly.

Probing tool length automatically

  • Turn on the machine and warm up the spindle. If the machine has been sat for more than an hour or two it's recommended you warm up the spindle again.
  • Remove the cover from the tool probe.
  • Clear the safety mat and turn the reset key.
  • Type F 25.n and press Enter, where n is the tool pocket you wish to probe. For example, F 25.1 will probe tool one, F 25.2 will probe tool two, etc.
  • The machine will now pick up the tool as needed and travel to the tool probe location. Press Enter to start the probing cycle.
  • If the correct tool is currently in the spindle the machine will go directly there to probe. If not, it will change tool or ask for the current tool to be removed before continuing.
  • Once the probing cycle has completed the machine will return to where it was when you started the process.
