Common issues encountered on the Axminster AT540PD.
Power Issues
The spindle won't turn on, but the light is on.
- Check the chuck guard is in the correct position. The guard should be covering the work area, rotated so that it is toward the front of the machine.
- Check the emergency stop button on the front of the machine, just below the start/stop button. Twist in the direction of the arrows to release if it is pushed in.
- Check the top cover is closed securely. There is a safety switch which prevents the spindle motor from turning on when the cover is opened.
