All of the files you will need are available from the Morson Maker Space Teams group - look in the Haas UMC-500 folder in the Files tab of the CNC Machinery channel. Once you have completed the workshop videos you can book time with the Maker Space staff to run your program on the router. The cutting, including setup of the machine will take approximately 1.5 - 2 hours.

This introductory part will introduce you to using the CAM workspace inside Fusion 360 to prepare work for use with the AXYZ Innovator CNC router.

You will cover -

  • Importing a material template and 3D model into Fusion 360
  • Setting up the material template and stock
  • Importing a tool library
  • Creating toolpaths to contour and pocket feature using preset feeds and speeds.
  • Simulating toolpaths to ensure safe operation
  • Exporting toolpaths into a format suitable for use on the machine.
