The keyless chuck in the drill can be removed from the spindle and replaced with a different type.  
The keyless chuck has a capacity of 3 - 16mm - you shouldn't use a drill larger than this even if it will physically fit in the spindle. The keylesscan be removed from the spindle and replaced with a different type, such as a morse-taper shank drill bit.
